Wow. All-Star weekend ends with a late night bang as DeMarcus Cousins has finally been dealt from the Sacramento Kings to the New Orleans Pelicans after about 2 years of trade rumors.

Pelicans gave up huge young core players in Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway, and a future first and second rounder.

Pelicans are basically risking their future on the assumption that Boogie will resign with them and that him paired up with Anthony Davis will attract a free agent of the future to compete for a championship.

The Pelicans are 2.5 games back of the 8th spot of the Western Conference that will most likely have a team under .500 in the playoffs. They have a decent chance of getting that with Boogie but it’ll be interesting to see how he fits with the fellow former Kentucky boy, Davis, and what the future will hold for both Pelicans and Kings.
